Clip from rare 1970s documentary about 18th -19th century clockwork robots, which were a popular form of entertainment with the aristocracy of the time. These automatons are both eerie and very beautiful at the same time. The narration and music of this film totally do that justice! When I was younger I always thought if I became absurdly, filthy rich I would collect these; they are still popular antiques amongst wealthy collectors today.
